TEXTILE STORY: Presenting a contemporary take on an old traditional art form from Chettinad, a village in South India that makes classic pieces of 'Athangudi' tiles. Beautiful and timeless, these tiles are handmade and influenced by the deep rooted culture of the people of Karaikudi. As a pride of their origin, almost all the Chettinad households use these exquisite blocks of concrete for adorning their homes. The colour palette was inspired by a sunset drawing done by 'The Little Person'She adores sceneries, and keeps urging me to use her paintings in my work. So this time I succumbed, but decided to do a geometrical take on the sphere. She was so excited with the final outcome, that she now has a huge list of paintings up her alley.
