This piece is for those who believe in the beauty of handmade and the power of cloth to tell stories. In this age of fast fashion, watching the slow process of making fabric by hand is almost meditative. There is an entire army of rural artisans behind creating this work of art, which is the consequence of hundreds of hours of intensive craftsmanship. Each is one of a kind, ethical and produced in a small batch; truly a fabric with a soul!

TEXTILE STORY
Perhaps the world’s most distinctive tree, Ginkgo has remained stubbornly unchanged for more than 200 million years. A living link to the age of dinosaurs, Ginkgo is revered for the elegance of its leaves. The handmade block came in all the way from Srerampore, a remote village in Bengal, after being meticulously carved by our Master craftsman, Manoo bhai. If you look at the real leaf, it’s about 5-7 cms long, but the block is around 20 cms, just like most of our signature patterns that are inspired by larger than life images. We did a self-print on orange, that was gifted to the Former CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi. She loved the piece so much, that she googled and wrote to us, asking to pick up more scarves for her daughters! It was one of the best career highs! This is my daughter Aeshaane with her. Check out the visuals in the slides.
